Our members come from all sectors and various disciplines, connected by a shared vision to create positive impact and drive improvements in social, civic and environmental outcomes.
We’re part of a global network of 90+ Impact Hubs across 5 continents, supporting over 11,000 members. We’re a dynamic team of 9 people and are looking for a Finance Manager responsible for the financial performance monitoring of the business, reporting directly to the CEO as part of the management team that also includes the Business Development + Communications Manager and Member Experience + Operations Manager.
Create annual operations plan, budget and regular variance reports for CEO and Board of Directors;
Develop and implement systems for reporting, measurement and supporting local revenue generation working closely with the CEO & Finance team.
Manage day-to-day cashflow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable;
Finalize monthly and annual financial reports in coordination with bookkeeping consultants and CPA
Directly supervise billing and administrative staff
Supervise staff and oversee consultants directly responsible for financial management (e.g., finance, accounting, billing, IT services);
Coordinate creation, monitor implementation and report progress of annual workplans aimed at achieving strategic goals of the organization;
Develop and improve documentation and administrative systems and processes (e.g., electronic file management; lease renewals; IT integration, etc.)
Lead the development and oversight of the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against organizational strategic goals;
Provide a strong day-to-day leadership presence and nurture a positive culture for the team.
Oversee HR functions for Impact Hub Seattle, ensuring that policies are kept up-to-date, are compliant with government regulations, and reflect the evolving and diverse needs of the business;
Ensure staff maintain up-to-date timesheets and sick and annual leave records;
Manage administration of existing employee benefits and evaluate/improve overall compensation and benefits strategy
Implement and maintain regular performance reviews for the Finance team and maintain performance review records for all staff;
Coordinate with human resource and/or legal consultants as required;
Collaborate closely as a management team with the CEO and Managers to devise and implement the long-term growth strategy for the business; and,
Take on occasional special projects, as needed and agreed upon.
Can work well autonomously and part of a small team;
Strong leadership skills and interpersonal and group communication skills;
Action-oriented with an ability to think strategically and adapt to changing circumstances;
Detail-oriented and analytical;
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting cycles;
Experience with Google Apps for Business and QuickBooks Online preferred;
Experience administering company payroll and benefits;
Experience, interest, and/or curiosity in the social enterprise sector
3+ years in a business management role with understanding of financial oversight and organizational development;
Experience in personnel management including hiring, supervision, performance reviews, and ongoing development of employees;
Experience working with a Board of Directors or equivalent governing entity;
Proven capacity to solve problems and simplify organizational complexity through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgement;
Ability to mediate disagreements and resolve conflict.
This is a Full-Time position. Annual salary ($45,000-$50,000) DOE.
